Born and raised in Orange County, California, I was around people of different backgrounds and cultures. I loved people watching and seeing what people wore and how fashion was an integral part of their everyday life. Fashion is a reflection of who you are; it expresses your inner self, helping to set the tone for the life you want to live. Furthermore, to me, apparel is art, history, and culture all coming together to tell a story.
How it all began for me…Every Friday, my mom and I had a weekly tradition to go to our favorite Mexican food spot, catch a movie, and hit up our favorite stores to see what new fashions were out on the market. This is where my love of clothes started. I loved shopping and could be found sketching dresses, tops, jackets, and pants at home with my Crayola crayons. During a family weekend road trip, while sitting in the back of the car drawing out "my next season's line" at nine years old, my mom noticed and mentioned to me, "Hey, that's pretty good, did you know you can do that for a living?" At that moment, I decided, "I'm gonna be a fashion designer!” Well here I am today, and I absolutely love it.
After attending Orange Coast College and FIDM, I began my career in Design and Product Development. I have done work in Surfwear, Sportswear, Denim, Outerwear, Vintage Apparel, and Country Western Apparel categories; specializing in design, product development, production, and Operations Management aspects.
